Plot summary:
This humid and affecting study of grief and desire follows 22-year-old Santiago (Jason Day) as he heads for the sun-drenched North Peruvian beach resort of Máncora, to recover from the traumatic death of his father. But when his gorgeous stepsister Ximena (Elsa Pataky) and her husband impulsively come along for the ride, Santi’s road trip becomes charged with unexpected tensions – and the promise of a new beginning. This powerful second feature from Peruvian director Ricardo de Montreuil was highly praised at its Sundance debut.
